The challenge
A seven-piece outdoor collection, each product needing its own film. Shot conventionally that is a location, a crew, a cast and a weather window — and outdoor furniture only looks right in about two hours of light a day. Seven setups across that window is a multi-day booking, and the range is seasonal, so the launch cannot move.
The idea
Build one place and stay in it. A coastal home with a terrace, a pool, a lawn and a low evening sun, then let each product hold its own film inside that world. Shot to shot the light never drifts, so the seven films read as one collection rather than seven unrelated listings.
The production.
- 01
Material study
Rope weave, cane, powder-coated frames, stone tops and outdoor upholstery were developed before anything else. This range lives on texture, and texture is where a product film gets caught out at close range.
- 02
One location, four aspects
A terrace over the water, a poolside, a lawn and a fence line — enough variety to keep seven films distinct, coherent enough that they clearly belong to the same house.
- 03
Light discipline
A single low warm key held across all seven. The consistency is the point: it is what turns seven product videos into a campaign.
- 04
Human scale
Couples and groups using the furniture as furniture — sitting, leaning, passing a drink. Scale is the hardest thing to read in a product render and the easiest to get wrong.
- 05
VO, edit & grade
Each film cut to its own voiceover, then graded as a set so no piece sits warmer or cooler than the rest.
Seven products. One house, one hour, one light. That is what makes it a collection.
Golden hour lasts about two hours on location. Here it lasted the length of the range.
